Welcome and thanks for stopping by!
I’m so thrilled to finally have my very first vegan blog! I’ve been blogging for friends and family since my husband and I moved to the US three years ago. When looking back on these three years it’s unbelievable how my life has changed since then and with this my blogging topics. From random hikes and travel experiences we added more and more topics based on animal rights, vegan food and such once we both went vegan.
How I became vegan? Well, I’ve always been curious about where my food came from or what healthy eating means, but it wasn’t until the summer 2012 that I eventually did ‘it’. I knew I wanted to do something meaningful which ideally should include more exercise, preferably running. So I found the PETA Pack, the awesome team training to raise funds for PETA’s Rescue and Investigation Fund. I signed up, started my training two weeks later and once the first donations were in, I was even more excited. While being part of the Pack I did more research on sports nutrition and tried all the information I could find. At some point I found out about how nutritious vegan eating is and that there are many many vegan athletes out there who thrive on a vegan diet. From that point on it only took a few videos about factory farming and the deal was done. Both my husband and I decided to try it for two weeks and if it doesn’t work, we could always turn back. But honestly, none of us ever thought this would happen. So here we are now, one year later and I think this is the perfect time to start this blog, my one year anniversary gift to myself so to say 🙂
I’m planning on writing a lot about animal issues, but also about recipes I tried and new products I found. But blogging wouldn’t be the same without the wonderful readers out there, so I encourage everyone to leave comments, questions, ideas either in the comments sections or via private message.
Thanks again for stopping by and I hope to see you more often from now on 🙂
